Mike Castleberry, Vice President

Mike Castleberry, Vice PresidentMike spent his entire professional career with Amoco (later became British Petroleum when they acquired Amoco), largely in exploration and production where he served over a period of 35 years in progressive positions as petroleum engineer, division engineering manager, district manager and operations manager. Over this time he worked in Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Colorado and Wyoming. His last assignment was in England where he served as the Operations Manager for BP’s Southern North Sea operations at the peak of BP’s offshore fields production of more the one billion cubic feet of natural gas per day.

After his retirement in 1999, Mike moved to the Bentwater community where he immediately got involved in various civic and charitable efforts including: President of the Bentwater Civic Association, a member of the Advisory Board of the Bentwater POA and a member of the Board of the Bentwater Men’s Golf Association. Mike is now in his twelfth year as a member of St. Vincent de Paul Society, serving on a Home Visit Team and chairing the Resources Committee. In 2007 Mike joined forces with a group of activists in the community to form and launch the Lake Conroe Communities Network (LCCN) and has supported it ever since in capacities that include past President and current Vice President.

Mike received his B.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Missouri School of Mines. After graduating he spent four years in the U.S. Navy where he rose to Lieutenant Junior Grade in the Civil Engineer Corp after serving in Okinawa and Rhode Island.
